Caring for Your Garments

Every Abayas Boutique garment has been thoughtfully created using carefully selected fabrics and considered construction. With the correct care, your pieces will continue to look and feel their best season after season.

As many of our collections include natural fibres, delicate embellishment or handcrafted finishes, we recommend treating each garment with care and following any specific instructions provided on the product page.

Everyday Care

Simple habits can significantly extend the life of your garments.

• Hang your abaya after wearing to allow the fabric to breathe.
• Avoid over-washing where possible.
• Spot clean minor marks promptly.
• Keep perfumes, oils and cosmetics away from delicate fabrics and embellishment.
• Store garments away from prolonged direct sunlight.

Washing

Always check the individual care instructions on your garment before washing.

• Hand washing is recommended wherever possible.
• If machine washing is suitable, use a gentle cycle at 30°C or lower.
• Wash similar colours together.
• Use a mild detergent free from bleach.
• Avoid fabric conditioners unless specifically recommended for the fabric.
• Do not tumble dry unless stated otherwise.

Drying

Allow garments to dry naturally wherever possible to help preserve their shape, texture and longevity.

• Lay delicate garments flat or hang them on a padded hanger.
• Avoid direct sunlight for prolonged periods, particularly with darker colours.
• Do not tumble dry unless the care label specifically states otherwise.
• Ensure garments are completely dry before storing.

Steaming & Ironing

Most fabrics respond best to gentle steaming, which removes creases while maintaining the natural drape of the garment.

• Steam garments on a low to medium setting.
• Iron only where necessary using the lowest suitable temperature.
• Always iron embellished fabrics, embroidery and prints from the reverse side using a pressing cloth.
• Avoid placing direct heat onto beading, sequins or decorative trims.

Storage

Proper storage helps preserve both the fabric and silhouette of your garments.

• Hang abayas on quality hangers to maintain their shape.
• Store occasionwear inside breathable garment bags.
• Avoid overcrowding your wardrobe.
• Keep garments in a cool, dry place away from moisture and direct sunlight.

Natural Fibres

Many of our collections feature natural fibres such as cotton and linen. These fabrics are breathable, comfortable and designed to soften beautifully with wear.

As natural fabrics can crease more readily than synthetic alternatives, light steaming is often the best way to restore their appearance.

Handworked & Embellished Pieces

Garments featuring lace, appliqué, beadwork or handcrafted embellishment require additional care.

• Always hand wash where appropriate or follow the individual care instructions.
• Handle embellishments gently during wear and storage.
• Avoid twisting or wringing delicate fabrics.
• Store embellished garments separately to prevent snagging.
